Bullywatch is an organisation based in Yate, Bristol, UK, that started
up in 2001. Our aim is to support those who are being bullied by giving
them someone who will listen to their problems and help them try to resolve
those problems. We are also here to help anyone else who becomes involved
with bullying issues e.g. the bullies themselves or the witnesses to the
bullying. Whether you are at school, college, university or even work,
we are here to help you with any problems you may be experiencing with
this issue.
This website is primarily aimed at those at school or college between
11-17. However there is also information for older people e.g. if you
are experiencing problems at work, or are the parents/carers of children
being bullied
(see Victims - Who can I speak to?).
There are 3 groups of people involved with bullying. These are the victims,
the people who bully and the people who stand by and watch: the bystanders.
We aim to provide helpful advice, and if you feel you need more help
you can always contact us.
Donations to BullyWatch
BullyWatch relies on donations to keep running, we are planning to raise
funds by organising a number of fundraising activities this year, however
if you would like to make a donation to BullyWatch this would be very
much appreciated and would go towards things like keeping our phone line
and website going, also producing materials to help children in school
understand more about bullying and the consequences. If you would like
to make a donation to help BullyWatch please make cheques payable to 'bullywatch'
and contact Julie Oakley on 01454 318753 or email bullywatch@hotmail.com
to obtain the address to send this to. Thank you.
New Anti-Bullying Board Game - By BullyWatch
Bullywatch has designed an anti bullying board game to encourage discussion
about bullying between young people and their teachers, parents or carers
aimed at 7-12 year olds. We have taken this board game to a number of
local schools and the response has been fantastic. The board game was
also featured on the Radio Bristol Morning Show on the 6th April 2006,
with the aim to find someone who would be willing to manufacture this
game. If you would like to find out more information about this board
game please feel free to contact us.
Bullywatch New Mascot - Billy the Elephant
Bullywatch now have a new mascot - his name is Billy and we will be using
him to help younger children understand about bullying, we will also be
using him to help with fundraising activities for Bullywatch. If you would
be interested in having Billy appear in your school or youth group to
help younger children understand about bullying please contact
us. Billy can also appear at events such as fetes, shows and kids
partys. Watch this space for photos of Billy at some of our fundraising events!
